What is Sound Massage?
For more than 5,000 years sound healing has been used in many cultures around the world for celebrations, ceremony, prayer, medicine and healing. Tribal drumming, gong playing, chanting and singing are the various tools used to create a meditative environment.
Sound massage combines the ancient eastern practice and modern scientific research of sound and vibration to draw participants from the Beta wave brain state to a more Alfa, then Theta and Delta state where deep relaxation and meditation occur.
To generate the sound and vibration, the practitioner uses one or more Himalayan bowls placed on the participants body to help release trapped energy.
Sound waves produce a gentle rhythmic pulsations and a wide range of frequencies emitted by the bowls has a calming effect, drawing the brain into a meditation state. When the body is in a meditative state, the heart rate slows and the body is able to rejuvenate.
